Mental Home "Upon the Shores of Inner Seas"

Soon after the release of Black Art the band began working on a new album. Once again Mental Home explored new elements and opted for a more progressive style, while still keeping their trademark sound of expressive, sorrowful and melodic metal. Calling the album Upon The Seas Of Inner Shores, the outcome is once again very impressive! Amazing melodies and intricate/melodic guitar work are the aspects of "Upon The Shores Of Inner Seas" that stand out immediately ("Breakdown", "Late To Revise" and "Bliss"), but the band"s busy riffing and battering of the rhythm section are apparent throughout the album as well ("Downstairs" and "Against My Will").

Vocally, Sergey Dmitriev has never sounded better, and the lyrical content is still full of bitter frustration, revolving around interpersonal relationships and struggles. Mental Home are now poised to bring their Russian brand of metal to a greater level, as Century Media Records has decided to license "Upon the Shores of Inner Seas" for the USA, further helping and expanding the limitless talent of this intriguing metal band. There are plenty of new bands to keep an eye on in this new millennium, and with "Upon the Shores of Inner Seas" Mental Home will surely be towards the top of that list.
