Therion "A'arab Zaraq - Lucid Dreaming"

A'arab Zaraq – Lucid Dreaming is the sixth full-length musical album by Swedish heavy metal band Therion released in the year that the band celebrated their tenth anniversary. The record contains a few unused songs from Theli, a few cover songs the band had made, plus a full soundtrack Christofer Johnsson had made independently for the film called The Golden Embrace.

Released as a ten year anniversary album, it's listed as a full-length on Therion's official website.

The covers were made "just for fun", except for "Children of the Damned", which was featured on "A Tribute to the Beast".

Tracks 1-2 are leftovers from the "Theli" sessions. They originally appeared as bonus tracks on the Japanese version of that album.

"Symphony of the Dead" is a remake of an older song, shortened and instrumental.

Recording information:

Tracks 1-5 produced by Therion.
Tracks 8-18 performed with The Barmbek Symphonic Orchestra.

Tracks 1-3 recorded during the "Theli" sessions at Impuls Music Studio, Germany, January-March 1996.

Tracks 4-5 recorded in Abyss Studio, Sweden, June 1996.

Tracks 6-7 recorded at Impuls Music Studios, Germany, December 1996.
Track 6 was originally released on the "Beyond Sanctorum" album in 1992. At first, they planned to re-record "Dawn of Perishness" from the "Symphony Masses" album, but as Christofer Johnsson wasn't happy with the result, they decided to go for a Judas Priest cover instead.

Tracks 8-11 recorded at Impuls Music Studios, Germany, December 1996.
The tracks are so-called "Therionized" versions of the songs from "The Golden Embrace" soundtrack.

Tracks 12-18 form the soundtrack for an obscure short film, "The Golden Embrace" (1997), directed by Per Albinsson.
