Michael Schenker is an influential guitarist of hard rock and heavy metal who was member of Scorpions in 1972 along his brother Rudolf Schenker, and later the lead guitarist of UFO between 1973 to 1978, leaving the group and founding his own band, Michael Schenker Group (MSG), in 1979.

In both groups, UFO and MSG, he gained a reputation as a highly-skilled guitarist with his black and white signature Flying V and his particular way to play it, being cited as an important reference to others subsequent V players as Dave Mustaine, Randy Rhoads, Kirk Hammett, and in general many metal guitarists over the years.

Michael has cited Tony Iommi, Ritchie Blackmore, Jimmy Page, Leslie West and Gary Moore as his major influences.

Masters Of Rock: The Michael Schenker Group is a compilation album, released in August 2001.
