Xibalba Itzaes "Ah Dzam Poop Ek"

Xibalba Itzaes is a Mexican Black Metal band, formed in 1992.

In Mayan mythology, Xibalba, roughly translated as "place of fear", is the name of the underworld, ruled by Mayan death gods and their helpers.

Not to be confused with the metal/hardcore band Xibalba (from California), who have a similar band logo and also have themes of Mexican heritage in their lyrics.

Jorge Ah Ektenel and Marco Ek Balam played in a band called Dread before forming Xibalba.

They released two demo tapes:

- Demo 1 1992 (recorded on January/March 1992)

- Demo 2 1992 (4 songs: "Concealed Genocide", "Suffering to Scientsts", "Exuberant Fallacys", "Putrefaction Remains"

Compilation appearances:

- "Furor Antiquus" on Black Metal y Sus Antecedentes Siniestros en el Rock y el Heavy Metal, 1960-1994 CD & Book (Under Fire Records, 2013)

Ah Dzam Poop Ek is their first full-length, released in June 1994.
