Afflicted "Prodigal Sun"

Afflicted originally formed under the name Afflicted Convulsion. The decision to drop the word "Convulsion" from the band name was taken once vocalist Joakim Bröms had joined.

Afflicted Convulsion was formed out of the ruins of a thrash band called Defiance and released one official rehearsal tape and two demos under this name. Then the name was shortened to Afflicted.

The band defined their sound as "Psychodelic Ultraviolent Heavy Grindcore". However, on the Dawn of Glory album, the band switched to heavy/power metal sound akin to Manowar.

Prodigal Sun was their first full-length

The back cover has a spelling error and marks "The Doomwatcher's Prediction" as "The Doomwatcher's Perdiction".


An alternate version of "Tidings from the Blue Sphere" was recorded, but only released on the "Death...Is Just the Beginning II" compilation.
