Distortion is the third studio album by American thrash metal band Forbidden. It was released four years after their second album, Twisted into Form, changing their early thrash style to embrace a slower style, presaging the groove metal sound of their next album, Green (1997).

Twisted into Form is the second studio album by American thrash metal band Forbidden. It features one line-up change from their debut – 1988's Forbidden Evil – with Tim Calvert replacing Glen Alvelais on guitar. The result is a more melodic and progressive affair with many acoustic interludes and clearer production, but less of a raw edge than its predecessor. It is their last album with drummer Paul Bostaph before he joined Slayer in 1992 when Forbidden was on hiatus.

Forbidden "Forbidden Evil (1999 Reissue, Germany, Century Media, 66029-2)"

Forbidden Evil is the debut album by American thrash metal band Forbidden, released in 1988. The title of the album refers to their original name before shortening it to Forbidden in 1987. The album was well received by both critics and fans and eventually became a cult classic. It is considered an essential release in the thrash metal genre.

Forbidden Evil was produced by Doug Caldwell and John Cuniberti, best known for working with Joe Satriani, at Alpha & Omega Recording, Studio 245 (both located in San Francisco) and Prairie Sun Recording in Cotati. The album's recording sessions took place in mostly 1988.

The album features future Slayer drummer Paul Bostaph and three of the songs were co-written by Robb Flynn, who later played with Vio-lence and Machine Head – although he never played on the album.

As of 2009, it is the only forbidden album to feature guitarist Glen Alvelais, who left in 1989 and would later join Testament (which had also featured Bostaph). He was replaced by Tim Calvert, who would remain with the band until their breakup in 1997.

The title track was covered by Temple of Blood on their 2008 release Overlord.

Coroner "Grin (Japan, Victor Entertainment, VICP-5259)"

Grin is the fifth studio album by the Swiss thrash metal band Coroner, released in 1993. It was the band's final album before their fourteen-year break up from 1996 to 2010, and other than several new tracks on the 1995 compilation album Coroner, Grin was the last studio album by the band until the 2025 release of Dissonance Theory. It is also the last Coroner album to feature drummer Marky Edelmann, who left the band in 2014.

Grin is considered a major departure from Coroner's previous works, moving to much greater experimentation. It is more focused on the aspects of progressive and technical metal, as opposed to the traditional thrash metal template of its predecessors. The album also incorporates elements of alternative metal, groove metal and industrial metal, and retains some of the avant-garde influences from the band's previous albums No More Color (1989) and Mental Vortex (1991).

After being out of print for many years, Noise/BMG reissued the album in 2018, remastered with additional photographs of the band and memorabilia.

• Polish technical death metal band Sceptic covered the song "Paralyzed, Mesmerized" for their 2005 album Internal Complexity.
