Shape Of Despair "Monotony Fields"

Monotony Fields is the fourth studio album by Finnish funeral doom metal band Shape of Despair, released on June 15, 2015 by Season of Mist as CD digipak and LP. It is the first album to feature Henri Koivula on lead vocals. The song "Written in My Scars" was first released on the EP Written in My Scars, but was re-recorded for this album.

The album continues the atmospheric funeral doom the band has been playing since their first album Shades of.... It is described as "melancholic and atmospheric", with "morose guitar lines" and "tragic ambient keyboards". The death grunts are "masterfully delivered", the female vocals are "gelid" and "angelic".

Shape Of Despair "Shape Of Despair"

Shape of Despair is funeral doom metal band Shape of Despair's self-titled album. It was released on the 10th anniversary of the band's formation (counting the years the band was known as "Raven", from 1995 to 1998), but not in honor of the occasion. The album features previously unreleased songs and demos of older songs, while some of them are under the former moniker "Raven", as well as the new song "Sleeping Murder" that had a "guess the lyrics" competition.

Track 2 is an edited version.

Track 3 is a pre-version recorded in summer 1999.

Track 4 is taken from a promo tape recorded in October 1998 at MD-Studio. 

Tracks 5 and 6 are taken from "Alone In The Mist" demo, recorded in January 1998 at Arkki Studio. 

Track 7 is taken from a rehearsal tape, recorded in 1995.

Angels of Distress is Funeral Doom Metal band Shape of Despair's second studio album. It was mastered in Finnvox by Mika Jussila. The album is packaged in a digipak and includes no booklet, though the lyrics can be viewed on the band's official website.

Shape Of Despair "Shades Of..."

Shades Of... is the first album by funeral doom band Shape of Despair. Unlike their other albums, it has a mainly solid guitar sound all the way through that is constantly played. Their more recent releases, for example Illusion's Play have more ambience.

"Sylvan-Night" is the only new song on this album. The other four were re-recorded from the first unreleased demo Alone in the Mist for this release.
