Asphyxia "Exit: Reality [Austria, Rumble Records, RUM CD 1005]"

Asphyxia fue una banda belga de thrash metal de Verviers, fundada en 1987 y disuelta alrededor de 1993.

La banda fue fundada en abril de 1987 por los guitarristas Yves y Roland Cluckers. Poco tiempo después, el baterista Da Cardoen se unió a la banda. Las posiciones de cantante y bajista cambiaron constantemente hasta que el cantante Carlos Ramos y el bajista Leo Johanns finalmente se unieron a la banda en 1988. Poco después, Roland Cluckers dejó la banda.

La banda tocaba thrash metal clásico, inspirado en la música del área de la Bahía de San Francisco. La banda recuerda a Slayer en algunos aspectos.

Exit: Reality permanece como su único larga duración, editado en 1991.

Carcosa is a fictional city in the Ambrose Bierce short story "An Inhabitant of Carcosa" (1891).

Ancient Rites "Fatherland (Japan, Toy's Factory, TFCK-87166)"

Flemish and non-Flemish musicians stepped in to help out the band on several tours in support of the album, which eventually led the once strongly Flemish rooted band to become an international act with the addition of Dutch guitar player Erik Sprooten (ex-Inquisitor) later that same year and Finnish guitar player Jan "Örkki" Yrlund (ex-Lacrimosa) in mid-1997. 

Shortly after the release of their third album Fatherland a keyboard player was found in Domingo Smets (ex-Agathocles).

"The Seducer" is a remake of a song from the band's 1990 Dark Ritual demo called "Fallen Angel". This demo song was also vastly modified and used as the outro on the Blasfemia Eternal album. That outro does bear the title "Fallen Angel".
