Reroute to Remain (subtitled: Fourteen Songs of Conscious Insanity, and on reissue: Fourteen Songs of Conscious Madness) is the sixth studio album by the Swedish metal band In Flames. The album saw a major change in musical style and was In Flames' second considerable step in the direction of a new sound, and was met with rejection among many of their fanbase. The album's more accessible sound attracted many new fans and popularized In Flames' name within the American heavy metal scene, helping to secure a top spot at Ozzfest. This was the band's first album to present singles, which were "Trigger" and "Cloud Connected".
In 2005, Reroute to Remain was ranked number 326 in Rock Hard magazine's book of The 500 Greatest Rock & Metal Albums of All Time.
All songs written by Björn Gelotte, Jesper Strömblad and Anders Fridén. Lyrics by Anders Fridén except "Reroute to Remain" and "Dismiss the Cynics", co-written with his wife, Helena Lindsjö.
Music videos were made for "Cloud Connected" and "Trigger". Soilwork were included in the "Trigger" video, which forms a pair with their video for "Rejection Role".
The complete name of the album is "Reroute to Remain: Fourteen Songs of Conscious Insanity", but there are some versions with the word "Madness" instead of "Insanity".
