Deicide "Scars Of The Crucifix"

Scars of the Crucifix is the seventh studio album by American death metal band Deicide. It was released on February 23, 2004, Deicide's first album on the band's new label Earache Records. The track "Scars of the Crucifix" spawned Deicide's first ever music video, filmed in Nottingham. This is the final Deicide album to feature the band's full original lineup, as the Hoffman brothers would both depart shortly after this album—ending their 17-year tenure with the group.

On July 11, 2006, Brave Words & Bloody Knuckles reported that Deicide received a Silver Disc from the independent music trade body Impala for their sales in Europe.

The song "Fuck Your God" was used heavily as a torture method for detainees in Iraq by being piped into their bunks to induce sleep deprivation.

Deicide "In Torment In Hell"

In Torment in Hell is the sixth studio album by American death metal band Deicide. It was released on September 25, 2001, on Roadrunner Records. The album received strong criticism from the metal underground for what many critics view as rushed production and lackluster songwriting. The label pressured the band for a quick follow-up to Insineratehymn, but Deicide failed to meet the deadline of its original release date of July 31. The band rarely plays any songs from this album live.

Reflecting on the album in 2006, drummer Steve Asheim conceded that the album's weaknesses were not solely attributable to record label difficulties:
I think that whole period was brought on by being burnt out, but not on music or the business, just burnt out on each other. I kind of always thought we were being kept down by our record company and stuff like that, but after we did In Torment [in Hell] and were finished with our deal and moved on to a great deal with Earache, we were still not up to 100%. By then, it was obvious to me that it wasn't the record company's fault, it was us, we were sick of each other. Well, basically, the Hoffmans and Glen were totally sick of and hated each other, and the quality of the band's work and the fans suffered for it.

Deicide "Once Upon The Cross"

Once Upon the Cross is the third studio album by American death metal band Deicide. It was released on April 18, 1995, by Roadrunner Records.

The samples at the beginning of the opening track "Once Upon the Cross" and "Trick or Betrayed" are taken from the film The Last Temptation of Christ.

Steve Asheim said of Once Upon the Cross, "Listening back, '...Cross' seems very slow. Live we play those songs much faster. Actually we've always played them faster than they are on the record. When we went in the studio in '94 and I recorded the drum tracks at the speed I had been playing them at practice, we only had 22 minutes with the same amount of songs, they were just faster. 22 minutes does not make an album so I re-recorded the songs at a more controlled pace and still only ended up with 30 minutes. So there it was."

Deicide "Deicide"

Deicide is the eponymous debut album by American death metal band Deicide. It was released on June 25, 1990, by Roadrunner Records. The album contains all of their demo tracks, plus the songs "Deicide" and "Mephistopheles".

While containing mostly Satanic or blasphemous lyrical themes, "Lunatic of God's Creation" and "Carnage in the Temple of the Damned" concern Charles Manson and Jim Jones respectively, and "Dead by Dawn" deals with the plot of the 1981 horror film, The Evil Dead.

"Dead by Dawn" was featured in the 2009 video game Grand Theft Auto IV: The Lost and Damned on the radio station Liberty City Hardcore.

Deicide is sometimes considered to be the bestselling death metal album of all time. Nielsen SoundScan lists it second after Morbid Angel's Covenant up until 2003; however, Deicide was released before SoundScan went into effect, so the SoundScan figure lacks pre-Soundscan sales.

Glen Benton has stated that no effects were used on his vocals while recording the album, though several songs do contain a pitch-shifted vocal effect.

The album was recorded at Morrisound Studios in Tampa, Florida, where Deicide would record most of their subsequent works.
