Konkhra "Weed Out The Weak"

Konkhra is a Danish death metal band formed in Køge in 1989.

Konkhra was first formed under the name of "Vicious Circle" in Køge—a small town south of Copenhagen—in November 1989. Before changing their name, they issued the self-titled demo Vicious Circle (1990); renaming themselves "Konkhra" they followed up with Malgrowth (1991). Konkhra then, signed with Progress label and released the Stranded EP. This official debut, was limited to only 3,000 copies, and featured artwork by Chicago-based tattooer, Guy Aitchison.

The name "Konkhra" stems from how drummer Clausen heard Tom Angelripper, of German thrash metal band Sodom fame, pronounce the word "conqueror" on the double live album Mortal Way of Live. Drummer Clausen suggested the name change to the band.

KMFDM "Adios"

Adios is the eleventh studio album released by German industrial band KMFDM. The album was originally conceived as the group's parting shot to its longtime record label, Wax Trax! Records, but it ended up also signaling the break-up of KMFDM itself until the band reformed in 2002. Recorded in Seattle, Washington, this was the last album to feature En Esch and Günter Schulz, who both went on to form Slick Idiot. Following the break-up, founding member Sascha Konietzko created the band MDFMK, before reforming KMFDM in 2002 without Esch or Schulz.

The album was released on April 20, 1999, on the same date the Columbine High School massacre took place. Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, the two perpetrators of the massacre, were both avid KMFDM fans. Eric Harris noted the coincidence of the album's title and release date in his journal.

A digitally remastered reissue of Adios was released on May 8, 2007, along with Symbols.

The 1990s core of KMFDM (Sascha Konietzko, En Esch, and Günter Schulz) had reunited for the previous album, Symbols, and toured together along with fellow German industrial metal band Rammstein in 1997. The core line-up was joined on tour by John DeSalvo, Nivek Ogre, and Tim Sköld. Adios was written almost entirely by Konietzko and Sköld, who became an official member for the band's final release with Wax Trax! Records. Schulz, who had done significant writing for the previous five albums, acted only as a studio musician, while Esch helped write only a pair of songs.

Adios was released on April 20, 1999, which coincided with the Columbine High School massacre and Adolf Hitler's birthday. Although Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold were big fans of the group, KMFDM released an official statement denouncing the violence, sympathizing with the victims and their families, and explaining that the band had no Nazi affiliations whatsoever.

Adios received positive reviews. Gina Boldman of Allmusic said of the album: "KMFDM sound smoother yet maintain their emotive mayhem in all its glory." The staff of PopMatters called Adios a "superb mix of the anarchaic fueled fury of the 80’s and a full awareness of what their genre has become." Remarking on the band's then-disbandment, they further stated that KMFDM "left us with something to remember them by." Amy Sciarretto of CMJ New Music Report said that Adios "continues in the group's grand tradition of techno-informed, industrial-fueled beat manipulation". She said the beats, guitars, and female vocals formed "an electrifying chemistry", concluding, "Adios is a satisfying sendoff for KMFDM and its legion of fans."

Kittie "Spit"

Kittie (stylized as KiTTiE) is a Canadian heavy metal band formed in London, Ontario in 1996. They have released six studio albums, one video album, four extended plays, thirteen singles, and thirteen music videos. The band chose "Kittie" as their band name because the name "seemed contradictory".

Spit is the debut studio album by the Canadian heavy metal band Kittie, released on January 11, 2000 by both NG Records and Artemis Records. Kittie was formed in 1996 and got signed by NG Records after the band approached Jake Weiner, the record label's second-in-command. After seeing Kittie play live, Weiner signed the group to NG during the summer of 1999. NG was then acquired by Artemis Records toward the end of 1999 and Kittie recorded Spit at EMAC Studios in London, Ontario during the summer of 1999.

Spit was finished in August 1999, and radio specialty shows and the music press supported the album. Before its release, Kittie was featured in an MTV News 1515 report. Although Spit was going to be released in October 1999, the departure of bassist Tanya Candler delayed the album's release to January 11, 2000. Music videos were filmed for "Brackish" and "Charlotte". The music video for "Brackish" and the music video for "Charlotte" both were played on MTV, with "Charlotte" being one of the most played music videos on MTV during July 2000. Spit was moderately successful, selling over 600,000 copies in the United States and being certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) in October 2000. It remains the group's best-selling record.

During the days of Spit, Kittie was influenced by many music artists, including Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Silverchair, Nile, Today Is the Day, Placebo, Far, Weezer, Orgy, Fear Factory, Hole, Tura Satana, Human Waste Project, Babes in Toyland, Misfits, Blondie, and Nasum. Produced by Garth Richardson, Spit is a nu metal album with elements of heavy metal, speed metal, techno, alternative rock, rap, groove metal, alternative metal and death metal. Spit, whose lyrical themes include sexism, hatred, ignorance, betrayal, bullying and life experiences, received mixed or positive reviews. Some critics praised the album's aggression but some critics criticized the album's song titles, lyrics and attitude. After releasing Spit, Kittie went on tours with bands such as Chevelle, Slipknot, Suicidal Tendencies, and Shuvel. Kittie also performed at Ozzfest and the 2001 SnoCore festival. Kittie planned to tour with Pantera, but the tour fell through when Pantera vocalist Phil Anselmo fell and broke two ribs. It was the only Kittie album to feature guitarist Fallon Bowman before her departure in 2001.

Spit is a nu metal album with elements of heavy metal, speed metal, groove metal, alternative metal, alternative rock, death metal, techno and rap. According to Exclaim!, Spit "plays like an inconsistent collection of stale 1991-era Pantera and Sepultura B-sides, overdubbed with the occasional 1995 techno sprinkle for a somewhat modern measure". The album contains heavy riffs, rapping, screaming and clean singing. According to an AllMusic review by Roxanne Blanford, the album has a "meatier, heavier sound than contemporaries Limp Bizkit and Korn". According to Michael Tedder of The Pitch, "Spit echoes Helmet's precision, Slayer's power and (with some songs dealing with body image and self-esteem issues) even Nirvana's confessional songwriting". Author Tommy Udo compared Kittie's sound and attitude to heavy metal bands such as Pantera and Machine Head.
